This portrait collection was created as part of my Studio Assistant Internship and explores an editorial approach to portrait photography. Inspired by my appreciation for black-and-white imagery, I chose to remove colour to emphasise texture, contrast, emotion, and expression within each portrait.
The project was designed to capture an edgy and gritty aesthetic, drawing influence from contemporary editorial photography. Through dramatic lighting, high contrast, strong composition, and monochromatic tones, the series aims to create striking portraits that feel both raw and expressive. This project allowed me to further develop my studio photography skills while experimenting with mood, visual storytelling, and creative direction.
